Afterloop is the product of an experimental kitchen run by composer/producer/vocalist Sonaluna and filmmaker/guitarist/graphic artist Elvis D.
It all started with a sound recorder that arrived in the winter of 2010. After recording everything in sight (sound?), Sonaluna began to use the samples in pieces of music. But there’s only so much you can do with bass-heavy iron gates, creaky floors and crackling ice so she turned her recorder towards a decidedly more musical sound – the guitar playing of frequent collaborator Elvis D.
Each of the 5 songs on this EP is built around acoustic guitar melodies, sometimes the centerpiece of the song, other times hidden among the layers of electronica they inspired.
